The Malabar Room

The South western coastal wedge between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea is The Malabar region.

Our Suite, The Malabar Room aims at giving the traveler a feel of a traditional Kerala homestay amidst the cityscape of Mumbai. (OPTIONAL : Even down to the deliberately crackled yellow ochre look of the bathroom’s floor with its naturally rustic appeal and the courtyard window-feel incorporated above the vanity counter)

Be it the hand painted geometric patterned crimson floor tiles at the entry area, the Kathakali masks, the palm fiber paintings depicting the famous boat races during the festive season of Onam, the urulis, the faux roof made of Manglorean clay tiles from which hangs an oil receptacle or the innovative use of traditional fabrics like the Neriyathum, the Rattan spun furniture, the sepia toned montage of the colonial era, the specially sourced posters of iconic regional cinema from circa 1950’s… are all our unique way of bringing out the empyrean quintessence of The Malabar.
